R. STAHL now has a Russian subsidiary. Moscow-based OOO R. STAHL was jointly established with the German corporation’s existing sales representative in Russia. R. STAHL’s previous activities on the Russian market had been conducted through sales partner, Interprompribor, for more than eleven years. Part of that business has now been merged into the co-owned subsidiary, which was established to better seize opportunities in this strongly growing market with its vast oil and gas reserves and ambitiously expanding chemical industry. “We want to continually increase our market share in Russia and demonstrate a stronger market presence,” says R. STAHL Executive Board member, Dr. Peter Völker, explaining the decision.
Interprompribor’s previous owners, Anatoliy Davydenkov and Alexander Machmudov, will stay on as shareholders in the new company, with Machmudov also serving as its General Director. Interprompribor contributes its well-established sales team that will bring great business know-how and market knowledge to the new entity, which will also continue to use the existing network of nation-wide distribution partners. “This is how, in the past, we have already generated a broad customer base that includes all leading Russian enterprises, for whom we have completed numerous major projects,” reports Machmudov.
Striving to meet customer demands at any time, OOO R. STAHL is set to pursue a step-by-step expansion course as it seeks to find an ideal approach to the upcoming Russian market. Russia is notable e.g. for its peculiar climatic and geographic conditions. In many regions, for example, a temperature of -55 °C is not unusual during the winter months. R.
